Margaret's Story

Life July 6,2005: Hi Everyone! Most of you would know me by Lynne if you knew me at all. As I am sure many of us have, I, too have done quite a bit of lifestyle changing taking many falls along the way. Some of you that I knew or was acqauinted with in high school I have come across while residing the the Leesburg area of Virginia. Others have managed to simply disappear losing total contact. I signed up as a way to meet new people yet still keep in touch with friends. It is not as simple as I had imagined. Most of my friends are now married with children with full time jobs so it is not like we can just pick up from where we left off back in the days of Frank W. Cox High School. After high school I went off to get a degree in Elementary Education and study art and music at Ferrum College only to find myself in the social butterfly stage that led me down a different path than I imagined. I made the basketball team but was unable to play because I had become such a slacker academically. I finally got a grip that grades are more important that socializing and ended up getting a two year Associate's degree in Social Science from TCC in Virginia Beach. I was able to hold on to my jobs for long periods of times before going through a stage of transferring locations and companies. I did everything from the nanny business to designing gourmet gift baskets, Radio Shack, and working in the waitressing field at some quite popular restaurants like Glory Days Grill and Thoroughbreds in the Sterling/Leesburg areas. I have finally found my knack in the fashion business in the retail department of a very popular women's clothing store called Chico's. ...Expand for more
My co workers are all females, it is a great place to shop for some really cool clothes and there is one located in the Virginia Beach area for those still there. In the relationship field, I didn't date much in high school and believe me I have had my share of fallouts there too including my first engagement back around '96 that I backed out of three months before the wedding. As shallow as it seems I had my reasons and obviously as I discovered later it was for the best. Details don't really matter because it is all in the past and it is quite hard moving into the future living in the past as I learn more every day. I met a wonderful man from the Winchester area to whom I am engaged. He and I are only a few years apart in age and he has two wonderful little boys still in the toddler stages of life. It was an act of mere fate. Other exciting news in my life is that my only and younger sister, Laura and her husband Scott Doudera (for those that know either of them) are expecting their first child come October. It is predicted to be a little boy but who can truly tell in these days. Finally I get to become an aunt for the first time. Well that is about all the changes of my life I have to share for now and no matter what challenges may come I will continue to be optomistic. It would still be nice to reunite with those of you that I associated with back in the "good ole days" of high school. So please, if you remember me don't hesitate to send me an email and keep in touch. Life is full of changes and surprises and life is too short to overlook memories. I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Lynne Davis (class of '92)
